GOD IS IN CONTROL
When GOD solves our problems, we have faith in HIS abilities. When GOD doesn’t solve our problems, HE has faith in our abilities. God’s ability is seen in His accuracy that may be observed in the hatching of eggs. . …
-those of the canary in 14 days;
-those of the barnyard hen in 21 days;
-eggs of ducks and geese in 28 days; -those of the mallard in 35 days;
-The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days. (Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!)
God’s wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant. . . . -The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. – No other quadruped is so made. – God planned that this animal would have a huge body too large to live on two legs. – For this reason, He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily. -The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first – A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first.
How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation!
-Each watermelon has an even number of stripes on the rind.
-Each orange has an even number of segments.
-Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.
– Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.
-Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number.
Amazing.
-The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all kinds of weather.
-All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks of wheat.
God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day. Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed.
The lives of each of us may be ordered by the Lord in a beautiful way for His glory, if we will only entrust Him with our life. If we try to regulate our own life, it will only be a mess and a failure.
Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil – it has no point.
All of this information has been shared before, but it is always interesting to hear once again of the mighty hand of God in the creation of things, as well as the uniformity of his dealing with the matters of this world.
The lesson for us in all of this is, that if God is that much concerned about the creation of the natural world, then, He is able to direct the things in our lives to the benefit of our lives.
If there is anything taught in our bibles, it is the fact that God is in control, and that He will set things in order to bring about good for each of us. In fact, the bible says: “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Heb 13:5).
Centuries ago, God promised Abraham and Sarah they would have a son through who’s offspring the world would be blessed. But there were problems. Abraham and Sarah were getting on in years, and Sarah was barren. When told she would be the mother of Abraham’s child, the child of promise, Sarah laughed. In response to her laughter, God spoke these words to Abraham:
“And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” (Gen 18:13-14)
When God rescued the nation Israel from their bondage in Egypt, He led them into the wilderness, where the “menu” was a miraculous provision of manna. But the Israelites began to grumble because they could not enjoy the variety of foods they had eaten in Egypt. In response to their grumbling, God promised to give this great company a diet of meat for an entire month. If the feeding of the 5,000 in Jesus’ day seems difficult, imagine feeding this huge congregation. Moses had the same thoughts and expressed his concerns to God:
“And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them? (Num. 11:21-22)
But God asked another question in response to Moses, a question vitally important to every Christian today:
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not. (Num. 11:23)
The answer to this question is crucial, and the answer of the Bible is clear and unequivocal:
“But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases” (Psalm 115:3).
“Ah Lord GOD! Behold, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by Thy great power and by Thine outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for Thee” (Jeremiah 32:17).
“And looking upon [them] Jesus said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
In these example’s we can see that God will take care of His people as he has the power to do so. But it is equally true that we must do our part as well. God has requested many things from us, to be able to receive His blessings.
The Apostle Peter in his second epistle shows the combination of the God’s part and my part in bringing about the salvation that will bless my life now and eternally. He said: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:” (2Pet 1:3-10)
God has done His part in giving us everything that pertains to life and godliness. And then he said that we need to add to this or as the word suggests,” bring in alongside of what God has done” the graces which will accomplish our salvation. If we do these things he says we will never fail and will not be unfruitful. This in short is saying “LIFE WILL BE GREAT HERE, AND HEREAFTER”
The question at this point is, God has certainly done his point, but are you doing yours?
